Datum/Zeit
Datum: 13.06.2022
11:00 - 17:00 Uhr
Germany and Norway have an established partnership in the energy sector. Both countries share the ambition to reach climate goals and build-up a green industry. At the 1. German Norwegian Hydrogen Forum, which is organized in close cooperation and coordination with Hamburg and the other four northern German federal states, representatives from Norway’s and Germany’s hydrogen economy will network and discuss future collaborations.
On-site in Germany
On 13 June 2022, the forum takes place for the very first time. Norwegian and German energy professionals, pioneers, enablers, and policymakers meet for a cross-border dialogue at “The Westin Hamburg” – located in the upper part of the Elbphilharmonie.
Developing the Hydrogen Economy and deepening collaboration
The use of hydrogen is essential for achieving the climate targets. To achieve this, clean hydrogen must be available quickly, in large quantities, and at a low cost. This is primarily a matter for policymakers to create the regulatory framework for the ramp-up of hydrogen now.
The Hydrogen Forum is a place to intensify the dialogue on these topics. The Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry Mr Jan Christian Vestre and Senator for Economy and Innovation in Hamburg Mr Michael Westhagemann, chief coordinator of the 5 Northern German States Hydrogen Strategy have confirmed their participation.
The hydrogen value chain is evolving quickly in both countries. Projects for hydrogen production, transport, and application in the industry are announced in Germany and Norway. Industry players in both countries and cross-border are forming joint ventures and consortia to support the energy transition with carbon-neutral technologies and projects.
During the business dialogue companies from the hydrogen industry will be presenting the latest news on projects and solutions, showcasing technical, scientific, and functional concepts, commercial opportunities, and scaling of the hydrogen technology and application.
The conference will be held in English.
The programme is subject to change.
